SOT: Bernie, your not your typical Scream Queen.  We picked you because

your whole image strikes us as the 50's Horror movie Starlet and we love it!

Have you ever thought of yourself in that way?

 

 Bernie: I was surprised too!!  Although I am not your typical Scream

 Queen am not a typical every day girl either. But i am a typical  a

 rockabilly chick .I live the rockabilly lifestyle. I live for the

 weekenders so i can bop, jive & stroll!!  I have close goth friends &

 have been called a closet goth chick.. teeheee.. I love film noir,

 Hammer horror, monster movies &  just spooky movies!! Even as a child

 I was fascinated with cemeteries & spooky movies. I loved the idea of

 haunted houses & ghosts. When I was 9 on Halloween I begged my dad to

 take me to the cemetery here in Old Town. I had a funny red devil

 outfit on & everything.

 

 

 SOT: What is your favorite horror film?  Book?

 

 Bernie: I love English Hammer Horror films Christopher Lee, Peter Cushing

 (I call him Pin Cushion)best one of all is Twins of Evil. I even collect 50s Nylon

nightie sets!! Another favorite Horror film of mine is The Hypnotic Eye. it is so

creepy & great!  The first Interview with a Vampire book by Anne Rice is amazing!!

 

 SOT: Being a Pin-Up girl do you have any posters or other items that people

can purchase, and if so, where can they get them?

 

 Bernie: Yes, there are t-shirts at Fred Segal in Santa Monica &

I hope to have a web site up in the new year & will be selling new

items there as well.

 

 SOT: Have you considered getting into film, and if so, what kind of

 movies would you like to be in?

 

 Bernie: Yes, I would LOVE to.

  Horror films would be really ideal.  But I think it would be cool if

someone made rockabilly B movies too with bands & stuff like they did

in the 50's like Rock Baby, Rock it.

 

 SOT:  What made you decide to become a Pin-Up Girl and when did you

 first realize that this is what you wanted to do?

 

 Bernie: I sort of fell into it. It was not a conscious decision.  I was

 doing hair, make up & styling for Danielle Bedics of

 whiterabbitstudio.com & Chad Micheal Ward of

 http://www.cyberotika.net/ . Chad has a book out called Black Rust I

 did some of makeup hair & styling for him in that book. In the back of

 the book there are a few snap shots of me... teeeheee...  Danielle

 asked me to pose for her one night & we had so much fun & the pix came

 out great. Then I was lucky to pose for Chad too!!

 

 SOT: I just can't help but look at you and think of Olivia DeBerardinis

 Pin-Up art.  Have you ever modeled for her or thought about

 approaching her to be a model for some of her work?

 

 Bernie: Oh My goodness!!!! that is the BEST complement!! WOW!!! I

 would LOVE to pose for her. It is a great honor to even have you say

 that!!! I have ALWAYS loved her work!!  Her drawings are full of life

 & soooo SEXXXY!!

 

 SOT:  Are you married?  If so, what does your husband think about being

 married to such a beautiful Pin-Up Girl?  (Like I really need to ask

 to know the answer to this one!)

 

 Bernie: Wouldn't you like to know:O) teeheee...

 

 SOT:  I just can't stop envisioning you on a movie poster scantily

 dressed and lying limp in the arms of the Swamp Thing or backed up against a

 rock with an expression of terror and the back of your hand pressed against

 your forehead as a space alien towers over you!  If you were a young lady

 back in the 50's do you think that would have been you in those movies?

 

 Bernie: OH YES!!! If I had the chance!!

 

 SOT:  Where do you see yourself in the next few years?

 

 Bernie: I hope to continue what I am doing & having fun. Hopefully

 influencing others a long the way. I do plan to travel a lot next year. Japan & England.

 

 SOT:  How would one go about getting an autographed Pin-Up of you?

 SOT:  Do you hire out for photo shoots and modeling sessions and how

 SOT:  What is it like being a Pin-Up Girl?

 

 Bernie: It is constant pampering, keeping in shape  & shopping for

 outfits & lingerie

 

 SOT:  Have you ever considered doing a Retro Horror Movie shoot for

 anything like lobby cards or posters or are you already looking at something

 like that?  If so, would you keep us posted, because we would sure love to

 get some pics of something like that!

 

 Bernie: Yes!! I actually have a lot planned for the new year!!

I will keep you updated on my projects & will send you samples they are

ready.
